My mother & I recently stayed at your hotel, and we loved it!  We have never been to such a beautiful place or to a place w/ such warm & friendly people.  I am in a wheelchair & everyone was so helpful as far as accessibility is concerned.  Some of the men put up ramps on the steps leading to the pool area.  That just made my day that they were so kind!  I just wanted to say thank you for being such wonderful people!.

Dear Mr. Gaines:

 

I have traveled extensively for business and pleasure, and have stayed in many lovely hotels and inns, but the Bar Harbor Hotel - Bluenose Inn is the finest establishment I have ever experienced.

 

My every need was anticipated: vanity seat, nightlight, extra towels, refrigerator, coffee maker, multiple suitcase racks. bubble bath (positioned on the tub, no less!), coffee in the lobby, and so forth, and so forth.

 

In addition, every employee I encountered was friendly, courteous and helpful!  Example - when I could not get the coin changer to work, 2 people ensured that it made change for me.  The wait staff in the Rose Garden was outstanding!  Maria, the reservations staff, was the most helpful reservations person I have ever worked with (the Autumn Gold package was perfect for our needs).  Obviously, this is a very well-run hotel.  We will highly recommend it to anyone traveling this way.

Greetings:

 

My husband and I were guests at your inn last week in room 238.  We want you to know how much we enjoyed our stay and your hospitality.

 

The room was so charmingly decorated (and so clean!) that we felt right a home.  Since the weather was just perfect we did not need the warmth of the fireplace, but that certainly is a nice feature.  The swimming pools are so pleasant; the indoor pool is especially attractive.

 

Our breakfasts were delicious and the service was excellent.  Everyone was so thoughtful of our four-year-old granddaughter and her food decisions and indecisions.  In the evening we twice enjoyed eating in the Greta Room and the relaxation of sitting in the comfort of the chairs and sofas while listening to the piano music of the talented pianist.  The hostess there was so friendly and attentive to our wants; we offer special accolades to her.

 

Thank you for a most pleasant vacation.

To The Fine Bluenose Staff,

John and I needed to thank you all once again for the lovely stay we had at your inn.  Everyone we had contact with, from the housekeepers, to the desk clerks, were delightful.  Eric was so pleasant and efficient.  Bill Trowell and Shirley in the Great Room made our evenings relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable.

My birthday dinner in the Rose Garden was memorable.  The hostess, waitress and wine Stewart all went out of their way to make it a special time.  The Chef was spectacular.

A special thanks to Cait at the Front Desk for the sparkling apple cider.  We can't thank you all enough.  We are recommending your establishment to all of our friends.  We Hope to return in the future.

I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you both for all your help in regards to my parents 50th anniversary stay at the Bluenose Inn.  Never have I seen such class & personal attention to anyone in all my travels.  I've been to Ritz Carlton's etc.  The way you both made them feel so special, so very important, words cannot express how delighted I was to see them smile everyday.  Even though I could only hear their voice I knew in their hearts they felt like royalty and even young again!

Making an experience perfect is hard to do, but you did it.  I will forever be so thankful and always remember your classy, personal touch.  I will be back again, that's for sure.

It was my pleasure to meet you, and I want you to know how very much I enjoyed my week at Bluenose Inn.  Each day was a delight.

Your entire staff is exceptional, and I especially commend the following: Cait, assistance in several phone calls and check in, Amy.  Shameena at check out, Beatty in Gift Shop. Bev and Ellie in housekeeping - I especially enjoyed the herbal tea Ellie provided each day, the nightly turn down service.  Deneen in the Rose Garden thoughtfully provided  a sample fresh blueberry pancake to see if I could eat it - as I was experiencing dental needs - I could and did so enjoy them many mornings! Betsy was a delight and Ron, an exceptional waiter.

I've traveled nationally and internationally and your quality is par-excellence! I especially enjoyed ending each day in the Great Room with Shirley and Bill Trowell - what talent - I enjoy his CDs.

Again - my thanks and congratulations for an outstanding staff.  I look forward to a return visit.

Dear Mr. Gaines:

 

We just returned from a beautiful weekend in Bar Harbor where we were guests at the Bluenose.  We have visited Bar Harbor numerous times and often admired your hotel, but had never stayed with you.  On the occasion of our marriage, we decided to go first class!

 

We were welcomed to our room with a bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling wine and a lovely not.  The room was equipped with every accommodation we could ever need, and was beautifully furnished.  The view was nothing les than spectacular.

 

What most impressed us, though, was your polite, professional and personable staff.  There wasn't a single staff member who did not have a smile on his or her face, and an affable demeanor.  However, one member of your staff, Cathrine (Cait) was particularly helpful, and went out of her way to answer our questions and cater to our needs.  She deserves special mention and probably a raise!

 

Your staff helped make our weekend a memorable one.  What would a hotel be without the people that make it run?  They are all to be commended for jobs well done!
